Holiday Halacha: Purim, Pesach and Beyond
Am I allowed (or required) to get positively plastered on Purim? What shall I do if an animal cracker falls into my Passover chulent? This chabura will explore the major themes of the Jewish holidays coming up during the spring semester. We will focus on breadth—surveying the major halachic focal points of each holiday—while trying not to compromise on depth. While our starting point will be the Shulchan Aruch and Mishnah Berurah, we will incorporate other halachic works as well. Some time may be spent discussing halachic methodology and the history of modern halacha as well.

Tanachabura: Yirmiyahu
In this lively chabura we will carefully study Yirmiyahu chapter by chapter, beginning with the life of the prophet Elisha. Each week, a different member of the group will present his/her thoughts on the weekly chapter, generating a spirited discussion. The foundational text of our group will be the Tanach itself, but we welcome the inclusion of other sources to illuminate our reading.
